MilesBuzz! - 27000 AA miles to US Air...any way to do it?

My normal AA flight from LGW to RDU has changed to LHR to RDU making the journey a whole new ballgame. I am going to start flying LGW to CLT but this will be on US Airways. Is there any way to transfer the AA miles to US Airways? Points.com doesn't allow transfers out of AA.
Are there any avenues where people "share" miles from different programs so that each person has the FF miles they need?
Or should I just find another way to unload the AA miles and start accumulating US Air miles?
Thanks!
If the useful tool, Webflyer Mileage Converter (http://www.webflyer.com/programs/mileage_converter/), doesn't provide you a way, chances are you cannot convert those miles/points. I believe you'll get good info from these previous threads as well. All the general principles are covered.

This may better suit you so you can accumulate miles more effectively and efficiently.
Also consider what you need your miles for. Upgrade, award tickets, or status? Remember your current 27000 AA miles don't get you far. A domestic award ticket costs (at least) 25K miles. Switch to US Airways may be not that big a loss. ;)

Thanks for the reply and the welcome...that was my first post. Still trying to learn all the acronyms!
I'll have a look at your suggestions. Cheers!

Not a good idea to transfer. You can redeem a ticket for your friend or family also.
Another option is to exchange your AA miles for HHonors points or one of the other AA partners.

Hm, isn't the distance (and travel time) between RDU and CLT much greater than between LGW and LHR? Or did you always need to go closer to CLT?
At any rate, points.com does allow transfers out of AA (though I don't know if to US), but you lose 80% or more in the transfer. It's totally pointless, if you only end up with 2k US miles, isn't it?
You should look into partner redemptions on AA. Can you get a domestic (or near-Europe) BA or IB or AY redemption with 27k miles?
You can also transfer AA into Hilton HHonors. You'll lose a ton, again, if you do that to end up at US. But maybe you could use the 50Kish hotel points (that might be one or two nights in big cities in the US or Europe, it could even be up to 4 to 5 nights in certain North Carolina hotels including Hampton Inn Marion which is 10000 points now and will go up to 12500 for stays booked on or after Jan 15 next year).
