Marriott Rewards - Bonus Bucks Expire Quickly?

I just got a Bonus Bucks coupon through a promotion. I didn't get it at check-in as I was supposed to, and forgot about it. Subsequently, I called Marriott customer service, and they arranged to have the hotel mail it to me. I just got it, and it expires 28Feb2010. Is it normal for the Bonus Bucks coupon to have such a quick expiry? I was hoping to use it in March or April.

We stayed at a Residence Inn in Poughkeepsie, NY last night after attending a wedding. Our Bonus Bucks also expires in February. We received it at check out. The computer was down during the night so we did not have a receipt slipped under the door as usual so we had to check out at the desk. We have two more nights to stay in order to maintain gold level so I'm hoping to use the Bonus Bucks before the end of the year.

Yes, it's normal... they don't have a long validity period. I have actually never managed to use one.

My experience is that the validity is usually around 4 to 6 months from date of receipt, so the 4 months in your case seems to be at the edge of normal.
