<before flight>
I stayed at the Holiday Inn nearby LGA one day before my flight. This Holiday Inn was
much better than the one nearby JFK.
When I passed the security, he drew a smile face as his signature on my boarding pass.
I felt pretty good and it did made me smile.
<LGA-ORD>
LGA to ORD is one of the “Business One” routes.
The Business One routes are to/from ORD to the following airports:
Boston Logan, Dallas/Fort Worth, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Newark, New York La Guardia, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. Reagan.
The benefits were
1. Newspapers are available for the flights depart in the early morning.
2. Meals are served in the first class cabin during the meal time.
3. 500 bonus miles for late arrival flights for more than 30 minutes.
4. The Business One flights all departs from concourse B for easier connection.
But now,
1. You can buy your own newspapers from your own pocket.
2. Meals become snack in the first class cabin during the meal time.
It was great and enjoyable to take the Business One flight in first class before.
I missed the croissant sandwich in the morning and hot pasta during lunch and dinner
time.
But now, we could only have cold deli plate as a snack.
I didn’t want to eat the regular “snack” so I pre-ordered a special meal.
Before we boarded, we were called to the front. We were told that they didn’t load any
meal or snack for this flight. They offered meal voucher or one CR-1 (Confirm Region 1
upgrade certificate). Most of us chose the CR-1 and then I went to buy my lunch.
After take off, we soon could see the Hudson River where the US1594 crashed into and
the new and old Yankee Stadium.
My seatmate was a child and I really wanted to hit him because of his behavior…..
Soon, I enjoyed my lunch and the drink that UA provided.
I figured out that the alcohol beverages were downgraded too.
Before, I could have Baileys but now they served Starbucks Irish Cream.
Besides the meal was downgraded, the EM power was not functional.
The purser said that they have never been functional but I did remember I used them on
board before.
After landing, I went to visit my friend and asked for changing my flight to the later one.
It was fortunate that I changed my flight because my original flight kept delaying.
As you know, United Express is always the brand of delay…..

My new flight delayed too. It delayed for 45 minutes.
It was a normal UA trip as usual – delays, something broken and making up excuse….etc.
