Has anybody actually had any success getting R class approved since they switched the rules on us and no longer allow Z class for vouchers?
I haven't had a single one get the OK.

EL AL Matmid - R class instead of Z for vouchersView Full Version : R class instead of Z for vouchers LatusElAl Nov 1, 09, 1:23 am Has anybody actually had any success getting R class approved since they switched the rules on us and no longer allow Z class for vouchers? I haven't had a single one get the OK. ebzed Nov 1, 09, 1:52 am As far as i knew Z was a paid class, and not voucher based one... economyman Nov 1, 09, 3:21 am ebzed is correct - Z class was only paid. D was the normal u/g class which was also used for paid and W was also sometimes used for u/g from lower classes (such as from Q). I actually waitlisted on R for LHR-TLV on a Thursday night when it was not available. They confirmed it the following day although R was still not available. So it really depends on the overall status of the flight. I expect that if D is available and you are PL or TPL they will confirm R without a problem. LatusElAl Nov 1, 09, 4:19 am As far as i knew Z was a paid class, and not voucher based one... Z was both. If you originated outside of Israel, you reserved in M and used a voucher to get to Z. If originating in Israel you reserved in S to get to D. Now, they made Z and D strictly for pay (were also previously available for pay) and R is for voucher use from M and S. ebzed Nov 1, 09, 1:03 pm Again, As much as i knew, Z is considered a "new" class (1.5 years old) in EL-AL, and i never was able to book Z class from abroad (when buying abroad -> TLV -> Abroad) |
