I'm flying on 25th December (burning some of my miles) and have a 6 hour layover in AMS. If I take the train into the city for lunch, will anywhere be open, or does it shutdown like in the UK ?

If you mean those travell guys then my guess is they are closed. 1st Christmas day is still a so called Sunday so shops are closed. The 26 is a other thing, more shops each year start to open. Mostly in the busy shopping streets/center. Sjoerd Nov 2, 09, 5:44 am I'm flying on 25th December (burning some of my miles) and have a 6 hour layover in AMS. If I take the train into the city for lunch, will anywhere be open, or does it shutdown like in the UK ? Trains run on Sunday schedule, and some places in the city will be open for lunch. Shops will be closed, I don't know about museums. It will be quiet but not as dead as in the UK. |
