OK Embassy Suites Santa Clara vs. DoubleTree San Jose.
Embassy Suites - Santa Clara:
Pros - Free Breakfast, Free Managers Reception, HD TV's on floor 9 and 10. Microwaves and Fridge in every room.
Cons - Slow internet, Breakfast ends at 9am, No HD channels. Workout room is small and has mostly Treadmills, Managers reception is croweded with overweight men (but the workout room is vacant as a result! so kind of a 'pro'!)
DoubleTree - San Jose
Pros: Faster internet (2Mbit), nicer workout area. Outdoor pool. Cheaper internet (12.95/day), Sushi bar in lobby, starbucks in lobby. Mini-Snacks and soda on executive level. Choice of USA Today OR Wall St. Journal. Free Parking. Spencers Steak House in Lobby.
Cons: No free drinks from 5-7:30pm. Rooms facing hwy 101 are loud, even on floor 10. Rooms facing airport can be loud but less to than facing the 101.
Conclusion:
I would choose the DoubleTree over the Embassy Suites. The prices of both properties are similar depending upon events going on in San Jose (SJC).
