My wife is currently spending four nights at the Paris La Defense Renaissance. On her hotel confirmation printout, there is a notation that : "A light meal will be provided each evening while staying at this property." When I asked her about this last night, she said the hotel had not offered any complimentary evening meal service and when she inquired at the front desk she was told her party could pay for any meal service it wishes, but that nothing was complimentary. Who's right?

On her hotel confirmation printout... Who's right?
What's the source of the confirmation? Marriott.com? Or some travel agent or corporate booking site where the hotel can claim error?

Sounds like CL access in disguise, IMO. Some 15 years ago, before earning "status", I was given an outrageous room rate in London, but it "included" breakfast per the travel agent. All it was was a CL room but the being travel new-be at the time, the CL was closed Sunday AM. After visiting the restaurant on Sunday AM (when the CL was closed) the GM refunded the outrageous buffet charge after I complained via mail.

The source is Marriott.com where the reservation was booked. Don't know what you mean by "CL access in disguise" means. Can you explain, please?

I assume the OP means Concierge Lounge access.

I assume the OP means Concierge Lounge access.
I went back to the actual rez. form itself and read what was there: "Amenities include:
Light meal Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday"
Would you still conclude that this means evening access to the Concierge Lounge? If so, that service was never offered. I called Marriott and was told that my wife should either speak to someone at the front desk or to the Concierge him/herself. Since she only has one night left on the reservation, what compensation do you think she is due considering the circumstances and in light of the fact that she is an elite member?

I noticed today that my wife's Marriott status had changed from Silver to Gold. In view of the fact that she was denied access to the Concierge Lounge/and/or free Continental Breakfast while staying at the Renaissance La Defense in Paris last week, doesn't Marriott owe her $100 based on their own terms and conditions? If so, how does she seek reimbursement? Since she stayed four nights, do they owe her $100 (per stay) or $400 (per night)?
