Just checked in for the BD63 from EDI to LHR tomorrow - was a seat showing in the booking which I did not want to change so finished check in. My boarding card and my text message are now showing no seat allocation......
should I be concerned as it looks like I am checked in but with no seat?!
flying business on a redemption - the outbound was taken today

Your a bmi gold. Don't worry about anything. I assume it's just the website that's playing silly. Even if the flight was oversold then as a gold you are not going to get IDB'd.

But you could get a bad seat :) - I'm curious how this turned out.

Apparently Edinburgh was aware of the issue and I got to the check in desk and was handed a boarding card for 4F - so at least I was on the plane but the worst seat in the house....
I generally have a somewhat different problem with BD OLCI: I have a seat, but can not change it, or even if I can change it the BP often does not print. Fortunately there are no particularly bad seats in J on the BD mid-haul flights or the UN code-shares that I generally fly.

What's wrong with 4F?
What's wrong with 4F?
Well on BD13 yesterday it most certainly was the worst seat on the aircraft. The fattest couple I'd ever seen were sitting in 4D/E (the person in 4D couldn't get their tray down because of their size). It must have been hell for the person in 4F. Can't have been good for safety either, if you needed to evacuate it would probably have taken the couple in 4D/E a long time to get out of their seat.
In normal circumstances, what's wrong with 4F compared to any other window seat? Personally I prefer aisles but surely a middle seat near the back has to be the worst seat around.
BTW what could you do in the situation above when faced with a totally full aircraft and you were the unlucky one that was going to be wedged into the window? For both safety and comfort I'd rather not be in that position but what could the airline do?
