US Airways Dividend Miles - US Airways Magazine

When I was flying US last night there was a copy of the November 2009 US Airways Magazine. Doug's column always ends with "On behalf of the 33,000 US Airways employees...." This month he ended with "On behalf of the 32,000 US Airways employees..."

Is it a 1,000 less because of the most recent press release?

Possibly, since the "realignment" announcement mentioned the departure of 1,000 employees.

US doesn't report the actual number of employees in it's quarterly reports, instead giving full time equivalent numbers where 2 part time = 1 full time equivalent employee. So it's impossible to tell how many people actually get a paycheck from US.

What US did mention in the 3rd quarter announcement was a 3,700 reduction in employee headcount year over year and this latest should be on top of that.

I miss the old US Airways Attaché magazine too -- it had a decent number of articles worth reading, and the advertisement-to-content ratio is out of control in their current one.
