Star Alliance - Credit USAir or United FF for international business class flight?

Currently chairmens on USAir and Premier on United. Only accrued 60K towards elite on USAir this year and 10K on United. Not sure whether to credit upcoming IAD-BOM in Intl business class to USair or United? Flights are operated by United + Lufthansa. My instinct is to go USAir, but I'm not sure if I lose anything.

Well, this flight would put you over the top for United Premier (and if it's before Dec 15 and you register for Double Elite Qualifying Miles, *very* close to Premier Executive-worth a quick mileage run).

On the other hand, if you're @ 60k with US then this would give you US Platinum.

Do you want economy plus on United (or with a quick mileage run, 100% bonus miles next year as well)? Or US Platinum?

Or if you don't much care for either other programs are more rewarding for business class travel eg bmi and Lufthansa.

But I'd probably make my choice between US and UA for status..

Though if you've got this planned anyway, why not credit to US and mileage run to Chairmans?

Will USAir credit me the bonus for flying in International business class?

For *A mileage accrual on US DM (http://www2.usairways.com/pv_obj_cache/pv_obj_id_0F7098FFDD659F55E508292ABC8AECE30E780100/filename/staraccrualchart.pdf), flying C, D, J, Z fares on Lufthansa earns 150%, while C and D fares on United earn 125% (note that discounted Z does not get any bonus).
