Emirates Airlines Skywards - Do 2 class 772, 773, 773ER ever get swapped for 3 class equivalents?

A new traveller with EK, and only recently realised the manner in which the 777 fleet is divided into two and three class configurations. Do equivalent a/c ever get swapped, and what is the implication for passengers expecting J, or perhaps more importantly those passengers booked in the first rows of Y? :D

Depends where you are travelling from perhaps.

In my regular flights from MAN - I have never seen the 777-300ER changed to a 3 class.....and my flights are always J.

The pm flight DXB-BHX and night flight BHX-DXB is almost always a 3 class and sold as a 2. If you are in J the day you check-in-on-line you can swaop to F.. Not sure if anythign different happens when in Y never done it!

The only time I've seen Y pax get J seats is when a F/J/Y plane is used on JED/RUH-DXB which is sold as F/Y. They sell F/P as F and J/Y as Y.

Otherwise on 3 class planes, J --> J/F and Y ---> Y. If there is a plane change, your seat assignment will change too. For example if you are sitting in 7D on a 2 class plane (Y) and the planes changes to a 3 class (where 7D is J) your seat assignment will be changed. Usually bulkhead changes to new bulkhead etc.

Is there any site that tells you what aircraft and the number of classes you will have on your actual flight. I know the emirates booking system shows what class they sell but is there a site that actually tells you how
many classes will be on the aircraft you fly on.

Reason I want to know is as above where if I were to book in J then I'd check in to a seat in F. And if possible then check in to a seat in J when flying Y.

Happened to me last year ex MAN, they switched to a 3 class 300ER. Got bumped up to a suite with the normal J class service.
