Hi,

I've got a trip:
30JUN: BEY-CDG-LHR (AF)
08JUL: LHR-CDG-JFK (AF)
11JUL: EWR-ATL-ILM (DL)
23JUL: ILM-ATL-FLL (DL)
27JUL: PBI-ATL-DFW (DL)
02AUG: DFW-MSP (DL CONNECTION / MESABA)
05AUG: MSP-SFO (NW)
08AUG: SFO-CDG-LHR (AF)
28AUG: LHR-CDG-BEY (AF)

This is all on one ticket (057 stock).
Which baggage allowance should I have?

Thanks!

Edited to add: I don't have any status on SkyTeam

Hi BA6501,

As long as your ticket was purchased before Nov 1, you should still get the 2 pieces at 23 kg each, at least going to the US.

However, for the domestic flights in the US, you will need to get to a counter, since online check-in or kiosks will try to charge you even for the first bag. I don't know how DL will handle the second bag part.

On the trip back, since you will be checking in with AF, you should be fine checking in 2 bags in SFO, as they should know the rules applying to tickets purchased before Nov 1.

Cheers,

Hi,

Sorry I forgot to say that the AF flights are in Affaires and the DL flights in Economy. How does that change the policy?? Sorry again!

Hi BA650,

With the pieces concept, it does not make a difference on the AF flights.

Cheers,

Actually, it does a little: for tickets purchased before 1/11, economy allows you 2x23kg while affaires allows you 2x32kg. After 1/11 economy allows you 1x23kg (2 for platinum, gold, and ST elite plus) and affaires remains unchanged.

Can you confirm that this is all ONE ticket? I know you said so in your introductory message, but I thought there was a maximum number of coupons per ticket and this looks like a massive 17 segments.

just a side comment : as your flights are next summer, for the DL domestic flights, be aware that they will change of time (sometimes for 5 min ) and flight number several times between now & the flight date. This is the favourite game of US airlines. As you have an AF ticket, you have a good chance to be informed (because do not count on DL to inform you ) but it's better to check on the internet regularly.

Yes, it is all on one ticket. Had to book it at AF agency in BEY.
Just to know does it differ if on separate tickets but same reference?

I am VERY used to this, had this summer 4 US domestic flights booked 4 months before and had at least 12 time changes... I look at my booking on checkmytrip.com quite often. I cannot see it on AF website as it shows a max of 8 segments.

I believe the additional baggage allowance is limited to flights operated by AF, KL, KQ or UX.

I'm not sure it is limited to those partners though I am sure it doesn't apply to ME nor VG.
