I am in the middle of a C RTW ex-ICN

Next Feb, I shall be travelling from Philadelphia to Hong Kong.
I have the option :

1) PHL (AA)- ORD (JL) - NRT (JL) - ICN and then ICN (CX) - HKG

or

2) PHL (AA) - ORD (AA) - SFO (CX) - HKG (CX) - ICN and then ICN (CX) - HKG

I have already made 2 stops within Asia and need to finish the ticket in ICN.

For 1) itin, first flight is leaving PHL at 6:40 A.M.! Also, I need to stay overnight at Incheon in order to connect CX ICN - HKG.

For 2) itin, it takes longer and I am not sure whether I can do a turn around at ICN. If not, I will need to wait for 6 hours at ICN airport.

Any advice?

ICN turnarounds are no problem, as discussed previously here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cathay-pacific-asia-miles/943660-hkg-icn-hkg.html and see Carfield's post here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/11072099-post10.html

I understand that if I start the journey in HKG and I shouldn't have problem.

But I will be flying PHL - ORD - SFO - HKG - ICN without stopover, I wonder if the AA check in staff at Philadelphia will check my big baggage through for the turnaround.

As discussed in the thread I linked, I would ask them to check it simply as far as HKG, collect it there and put it in the baggage store while you do HKG-ICN-HKG.

Thank you, christep. I missed that part of the link.
