Doess PC allow my wife to use a night on my points? The address on the account is a work address and not our home. I can easily use her credit card when making the reservation.

Thoughts, ideas?

I have several times made award reservations using my points for my daughter, who has the same last name. I do them by phone and tell the agent that she'll be staying there instead of me. Each time the e-mailed confirmation showed her as an additional guest. She didn't have a problem checking in.

I used nights booked on my sisters account with a different last name and address. I put the actual people who are staying in the reservation under additional comments and then called to make sure it was ok, since my sister was not going to be with me or even in the same country, I printed everything out, I had no problems checking in by just giving my name.

You can even make the reservation online, just put the other person's name as additional guest. No need of the last name or address to match.
She'll probably have to mention your name at check in (or reservation number), so they can find the reservation.

I even had two rooms booked at the same hotel booked for the same night for different people from my account. Just put the name in "additional guest" You can only put one name there - for one of the rooms I emailed PC CS and said that the room is not for me, but kid + friend. The added a remark to the reservation to that extent, stay went without a glitsch.

Did both rooms receive upgrades or just one?

I guess in that HI there was no upgrades, but didn't even think of this until now.

There is no problem at all with booking a room for somebody else with your points. Either use the "2nd guest" method already described, or you can put a note in the <comment> field that the room is for XYZ and not for you.

This is completely legit and not a "trick" or circumvention of any rule.

I often get UGs to exec room or other premium room at HI (even HIX). Also, many HIs give an amenity like free drink coupon, breakfast discount, etc to plats - even on award stays.
