It's interesting to see that paid lounge members get access to Singapore Airlines' business class lounge even when flying in coach on a Star Alliance carrier while Star Alliance Golds flying in coach on a Star Alliance carrier have a history of being denied access there.

Unless it has changed very recently SQ SKL in SIN is excepted. So no inconsistency with *G access.

Interestingly enough, UA's RCC membership explicitly notes the following: "In Singapore, use the SIA Premier Lounge."

However, CO.com lists the "Singapore SilverKris and KrisFlyer Lounges" as accessible to CO PC (lounge) members.

http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/content/travel/airport/lounge/locations/affiliate.aspx

That CO listing may be a mistake given how it also lists those lounges as being available to Star Golds + 1, but that's what it shows there.

But then there is AC's Maple Leaf Club Worldwide listing: "Singapore (SIN) - Krisflyer Gold Lounge - Terminal 3" and "Singapore (SIN) - Premier Lounge - Terminal 2" . http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/airport/maplelounges/pop_mlclounges.html

Also, there are Star Gold lounges -- like what SK and LH have -- that may be off limits to Star Alliance business class customers unless they also happen to have Star Gold status. And so AC, CO, UA and US paid lounge members without Star Gold status won't be entitled under policy to get into such Star Gold lounges with SK at ARN, CPH, OSL or LH at MUC even while able to use the SK and LH "Business Lounges" at such airports.
