Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - AS 06 - Nov 1 - LAX - DCA

Hi - just recently designated MVP Gold - bought an "H" class ticket on this flight - but no automatic upgrade at booking. There are 9 seats left to sell and the flight is in less than 48 hours. Any idea why my upgrade request hasn't cleared? Are they waiting until tomorrow so that I will be tempted to purchase the upgrade? Advice??? Thanks - Steven

Some of us have noticed as of late that things happen (i.e., upgrades clear) at the 36-hour mark. Maybe that will happen for you.

You might want to call up the Gold desk and see if they can help you out, too. Make sure you're in the system as a Gold, and all that. Your post did not say when you achieved the status. But congratulations nonetheless!

Yes - Gold desk has info and my profile shows MVP Gold also. I'm guessing that maybe the "36 hour rule" will come into play...thanks for the feedback Steven

If you bought your tickets before you became Gold, your ticket may not reflect your new status in the upgrade queue, even though it shows in your profile. There are reports of people having to call and ask CSRs to manually remove the old upgrade request and add it back with the new status.

Congrats for getting MVPG... It was announced at the MVPG Lunch in Oct that rev management has been going thru on higher fares and 'forcing' upgrades to MVPG's at 36 hrs out... so good luck

That is assuming your status is all the way processed...

I'd say check again now. I just checked EF and F inventory has dropped from 7 to 4. I still remember my first trip as MVPG in Y
