I am a new visitor to the Alaska corner of FT, looks like a place I want to visit more often. l am considering a switch of mileage plans away from DL and I also have the urge to do more western travel. As I am MSP based there is still going to be a lot of NW metal in my future travels. I have read a lot about the partner flight number ranges being incorrect as listed and am curious if I could get a run down of exactly what is excluded and possibly why for both NW/DL and AA.

Welcome to the AS Forum Exiled in Express :D
This seems to be a big question and I think it relates to what DL is doing to its schedule right now... and hopefully will be sorted out once DL is done assimilating NW... but there may be chances your miles won't post if not in the 'correct' range... Its always been kinda odd IIRC with some of DL's regional partners and getting all miles to post to AS... it shouldn't be, but it has been...
what you will save in fricken change fees as an AS gold on AS fleet will out benefit any DL/NW flights that might not be credited :D;) as opposed to even paying change fees on DL as a gold

Thanks for the welcome.
Change fees are not a big deal to me, my travel is 90% personal and I have not yet had to interupt my travels.
I did inquire about a status match and was told it can six weeks to process, which makes it a big gamble. If I get it I would switch the crediting of all my remaining flights this year to AS which would mean I fall short of ST+, but if I don't get it I've lost out on a status level and the bonus miles. Anyone have the scoop on the actual processing time? I also want to purchase a boardroom membership but I would rather avoid the initiation fee that the match allows.

My status match was less than a week, I want to say 3 days from when I faxed a copy of my NWA gold card?
As for the no change fee's, I love that part. My travel plans hardly ever change either, but it's less stressful actually buying a ticket. Especially award tickets. I'll book what's available, and if something better opens up (though most of the time I'm quite happy with the availability) I can easily switch. I did it yesterday, could do it online and it only took 2 minutes.
