Dear all,

I'm looking to go from BUD to CMB (Sri Lanka) in January and will fly in LF F through either FRA or MUC in the morning.

Since there are 3 different aircraft types (747, 777 and 333) being used on the different routes and all of them have an F cabin, I was wondering if you guys had any input regarding the best overall experience?

Though I wouldn't mind seeing the FRA FCT, that's not a huge factor for me (MUC FCL seems great) and I care much more about the in-flight experience.

Do the seats differ at all between the aircraft types?

Thanks a lot for your help, and any general input on those routes is appreciated as well.

{edit} I will be traveling alone, if that makes any difference.

Make a small search and you will get tenth of thread about the LH F experience.
Seat are same on all configuration just the 8 or 16 seat configuration difference.
Where you found the 777 metal in LH

Transfer in BOM is a nightmare.
I did FRA-BOM-CMB a while ago.
I would serioulsy consider UL nonstop from FRA in C...

There is no more F ex-MUC - it is an all-biz configuration.

You can only fly in F on FRA-BOM, and this is a 744, upper deck has the F seats.

Another option with M&M miles would be on LX, who are now operating the A333 to BOM and which has the new F cabin.

Edited to Add: Yes, I would rather fly into CMB directly, especially if you are flying from BUD!

You would be arriving at 01350 hours or thereabouts, early morning in BOM, and then would have to either spend the night or catch the UL flight, 0340 BOM-CMB, which is also not a very nice flight to take, imo - having done this a couple of times in the past, even in C-class.

There is F on flights to BOM ex MUC even in January. Just check out LH764 and LH765.

Probably because they weren't getting many J pax!

Edited to Add: *This* is why the LH girls were so happy when I asked them about the MUC flight...

One has to excuse me, as I'm still boycotting LH! :p

(I just checked KVS and noted that they restarted with a A333!)

Don't know when they got rid of that but in November 2008 I was on F MUC-BOM so it must have been in between or very long ago.

Where you found the 777 metal in LH :confused:OP probably saw the LH codeshare on AI. Not recommended!

I would consider flying via the Gulf; Qatar Airways, Etihad, Emirates and Kuwait Airways all fly to CMB directly, which means no hassle connecting in India.
