Online Travel Booking and Bidding Agencies - Help with buying cheap tickets to Thailand?

I am trying to buy 2 adult tickets to Thailand (BKK), from Denver (DIA) roughly 12/13/09-1/17/10.

Does anyone have suggestions or ideas about the best place to look for these? We have quite a few continental miles saved up, but those don't seem to be the way to go here.

Thanks for the help!

CO is now in the Star Alliance, which should have some good opportunities. The time you're traveling is pretty much high season, so being able to use the miles can be tough. What do you consider a "good amount" of CO miles?

We have 25K each...

25k each is only enough for a domestic ticket at normal levels. Not a "good amount" when flying international. :)

Doing a basic search on www.itasoftware.com, I find $1142 or so as the cheapest for a month long stay, but didn't plug your exact days in. Sometimes you'll find better prices out of LAX or SFO, so you might want to try checking there, and then seeing if you can find a cheap connecting flight. Also check flying to SIN, KUL, HKG, MNL or NRT, and then using your miles for an intra-asia award, or cheap low cost carriers (AirAsia, etc).

If you have a friend or relative with a lot of frequent flyer miles, you might also see if they'll book something for you.

thanks for the help, i'd be interested in your 1100 price, i can't find anything below 1,300.

Here is a trip that is close to your dates, around a month. As I mentioned before if YOU want to do some of the legwork at the site I mentioned below, you can probably do better. Also, I think UA has some discount certificates out there for 5-10% off, which would help a bit on these tickets.

Hi,

Have you try looking at offers by local Thai travel agent in the US? When I was studying in US, I always buy through them and always get a better deal than booking directly at airlines. There are many agents in LA and Chicago. Sorry I forgot all their names.
