Mileage Run Discussion - Just bought a MR to top of my account for EXP! Woohoo!

Took advantage of the $25 segment sale and bought 6 segments for a grand total of $199.60. This will bring my total segments to 100 for 2009.

Pretty pleased that I can top off my segments for the year with just one additional day of flying.

Itinerary is ORD->STL->ORD->IND->ORD->STL->ORD scheduled between 6:20am and 6:20pm on a Friday in Dec.

Sale ends today so if you're putting off a MR, now is the time!

4 of these segments ORD on a Friday in December within 12 hrs?!! Yeah..you may need a backup plan. But good luck.

I realized that with the DEQM promo going on that I'm going to have just shy of 80,000 EQM's by the end of this year ... with the possibility of travelling internationally next year, so have decided on a MR to make EXP as well ... but mine's to FRA for a weekend (LBB-DFW-FRA-DFW-LBB ... could have booked FRA-ORD-DFW-LBB on the way back for essentially the same price, but wanted to get home a little earlier).

Me. I'll be making Platinum. FWIW, my girlfriend will have to figure something out soon if we're going to renew her Gold.

I booked a mileage run to LBB and flew it last weekend to lock in PLT, just before I suddenly found out I was taking another trip this year anyway...

You noticed that, too, eh? I wouldn't have expected that result offhand, but given that Europe is substantially farther north than most of the U.S. combined with that whole "great circle" concept, I guess it's not terribly surprising ...
