Hertz - Hertz #1 Gold Club - Free Voucher for every ten rentals

I got my first four free day vouchers and I am deeply disappointed about that crap.

On the website it says that a Five Star or a President's Circle Member gets a voucher for a free rental day for every ten rentals. That sounds nice.

When I got my first vouchers, I found many restrictions. The most severe restrictions amongst them:
- Valid for one day if one rents at least two days
- Valid for standard rates only

Huuuuu? I am being ripped off by Hertz? Why do I get vouchers with restrictions? Is this how it should be?

Such vouchers are completely useless to me because the prices are way too high and because I hardly every need a car for more than 24 hours.

Voucher? what? where? how?

As far as I know, Hertz changed the one-free-day-voucher-every-10-rentals scheme to 600 magic Hertz points sometime within the past year (at least for Hertz #1 Gold Five Star members.... what a mouthful).

Is there a different bonus system for a different program or?

??? On their websites it still says A free rental day voucher after 10 rentals (Source: https://www.hertz.co.uk/rentacar/emember/join/overview.do?learnMore=presidentsCircle, 30.10.2009)

I believe the 600 points are given if you chose to collect Hertz points. I, on the other hand, collect airline miles.

To come back to my question: Am I being ripped off by Hertz or is the voucher really only valid if I rent at least two days?

What would the value of such a voucher be if I trade it on CC?

Every 15 rentals, not 10 at least in US.

Used to be 1 per 7 rentals in Canada... no idea what it is now. I seem to never get them...

Thank you, guys that you discuss about the numbers and points but this does not answer my question at all

I believe the 600 points are given if you chose to collect Hertz points. I, on the other hand, collect airline miles.Well, that's probably part of the problem. You're not even participating in their loyalty program.

That said, I have no idea what kind of voucher you're getting. The old vouchers I used to get for free rental days were relatively unrestricted; I've never had a problem using them at all, though I never tried over key holidays. The 600 points I get now are great because I usually rent in Manhattan on a weekend, when I get a free weekend day certificate for only 500 points (vs. free weekday for 600). I use them all the time. I just used one today on a one-day rental. A weekend rental day in Manhattan typically costs $80-120 for a mid or full-sized.

..

That's irrelevant at least in US. I collect miles but every 15 rentals i still get 600 pts added to my account.
I am not aware of any free day voucher rewards in US but OP did not specify his country so it's hard to comment.
