InterContinental Hotels: Priority Club & Inter-Continental Ambassador - Do 5k referral bonus points count toward Elite status?

I have just earned two 5k referral bonus point but they do not count toward Elite in my online status. I would like to know if others meet same situation before I contact Priority Club CS.

BTW, both these two referrals get 5k bonus point count toward their Elite status but both of them got this by reporting missing stay using online form, few days after Priority Club CS credit to their accounts (and mine) manually.

This seems like a strange exception. Historically any and all points however obtained (including purchase) have counted towards plat qual.

I too have earned 10K in points from two different 5K referrals, yet according to my account online, my points earned in 2009 are ~ 6,000. So you are not the only one this has happened to...

Aside from the recent introduction of the points and cash method whereby if you cancel a reservation I believe the points refund to our account doesn't count towards status.

All other means i've come across have worked for me though.

If referral does not count toward status, I may have to re-think my strategy to qualify Platinum this year. I hope 10k partner part counts.

Most people post in "Priority Club Elite experiences" are with Platinum.
Anyone know how good is my chance to stay gold and get upgraded / free breakfast in CP?

P.S. My Netflix 3k just posted and it counts toward elite status.

I'm a littel surprised that people are having difficulty qualifying for plat. With careful registration of everything in the promo thread my wife manages to requal on ~6 nights/year.

I can only look back 180 days but the "Points earned in 2009" is slightly less than the sum total of the points for the last 180 days. I can't remember how many points I got Jan-April. So it is clear that some points aren't being counted but I don't know which ones unless I can see all transactions back to Jan 2009.

You can view your last year's stays although I'll be ******** if I can find the link right now. Perhaps someone with their finger on the pulse could kindly post it?

Thank you. I did five or six searches based on previous year's stay previous 365 and a few others but didn't hit the jackpot.

Too many points break / award stays..
Now I may think opt for Chase checking bonus in PC instead of Continental miles.

Thanks, I used that link to see my activity for a year. I have about 48,000ish points based on all points this year but they are only counting 28,000ish. The difference of 20,000 adds up to 3 x points plus cash of 5000 each plus one referral bonus of 5000.
