Hoping that someone here can help with advance info for an airport transfer from incoming flight at CPH to train from the airport to Aarhus.

We arrive at about 12:30 pm and have reservations through a Danish friend on a 13:40 train to Aarhus.

Does that seem sufficient time to get luggage, clear customs, pick up the ticket and make the train?

Any special notes on things to help speed along are appreciated. Have never been to CPH before.

1 hour and 10 minutes is plenty. It takes 10 minutes to get to the bagage area. Bagage is available ~20 minutes after arrival.

From the bagage area it's a 5 minute walk to the trains. Picking up the ticket also takes something like 5 minutes.

When I land at 19.20 I can catch a train at 19.40 (hand-luggage only) - even if you put 20 minutes on top to wait for checked in bagage there is sufficient time.

CPH is quite easy to get around. Depending on which Gate you arrive at, you should get from gate to train in 20-40 mins even with luggage.

Notice that your train tickets are valid for any train departure on that day, only your seat reservations are for the specific departure. And seat reservations are not mandatory. So if possible you can catch an earlier train to Aarhus.

If you feel like it you could even catch an earlier train and get off at Copenhagen Central ("København H") and wait there for your Aarhus train (departs Copenhagen Central at 14:00) instead of at the rather dull airport train station.

Enjoy your trip to Aarhus.

...unless the tickets are discount tickets (orange tickets) which can not be refunded or changed.

Anyway, I agree to the time aspects. The OP has plenty of time and will most likely find himself waiting at least 30 min for the train at the airport station...

Why not hop on Cimber? For about three trips now, it has been cheaper to fly (and faster) inter-DK than the train has been!!!!
