Was reviewing my credit report recently for purposes detailed in some other threads here. Noticed that a Citibank American AAdvantage Business Card that I have had for may years does not show up on my credit report. I was surprised to see this and troubled as this card has a very high limit that I never reach. I always thought keeping this card open was helping me in the credit world.
I am the sole owner of the business and there is no Tax ID associated with it, I used my SS# when opening the card.
Do Business Cards typically not show up on personal credit reports?

Yes, business cards in general do not show up on personal credit reports.

Some do, some don't. Most will report to your personal report if you ever have a late payment or default as your ss# is the PG.

Right now for sole props only Cap One, State Farm, and Discover business cards in good standing appear on your personal report.
As pannhead51 mentioned, if you default, all will appear.

Hmmm, so I may reconsider keeping it open then. I don't want to continue to pay the annual fee and it doesn't appear to be helping me from a credit standpoint.

It may be helping more than you think. The biggest benefit after separating your personal and business expenses is that any spend on this card will not appear your personal report. This in turn will increase your score as you'll have improved credit utilization numbers. If your monthly spend is big, it can have a significant detrimental effect on your personal report as it may look like you're living beyond your means.
There are downsides of using a business card, the biggest is that any debt racked up on this card does not fall under protection of the FCRA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_Credit_Reporting_Act)

The monthly spend on this card is roughly $2k, for business travel expenses. The limit is $60k.
I had always assumed this gap between the monthly spend and the unused credit limit was helping my credit score look good. Wonder if I can transfer the limit to a personal card? I have read elsewhere here that Citi is not allowing this as much as they used to though.

Citi would not transfer the limit from one business card (earning ThankYou points) to another business card (earning AA miles) for us. If they do agree to move the credit line to a personal account be careful not to choose a Mastercard World/World Elite or VISA Signature. These cards have the "No Preset Limit" and Citi will not report the revolving limit.

In the past Citi would NOT transfer credit line from a business card to a personal card, but allowed the opposite.
Recent reports have been, no transfer is even allowed among personal cards. Or one has to turn off any low / 0% APR offers on accounts (even one does not use it) before the re-allocation of Credit Line can take place. Make sense to me as this is to prevent the cardholder to amass a large credit line on a low / 0% APR (even on Purchase) card and then just run up the outstanding balance on that card.

Just got a new Citi AA personal MC. Citi called me and asked if I wanted to transfer some of my credit limit from another personal card which I did. New card paperwork shows the higher credit limit.
