Is there any difference whatsoever between these services (other than one hour departure time) ?
Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - HKG-LHR: CX251 or CX255 in F ?View Full Version : HKG-LHR: CX251 or CX255 in F ? maxmin Oct 29, 09, 10:49 am Is there any difference whatsoever between these services (other than one hour departure time) ? Omoleel Oct 29, 09, 11:02 am There is no difference in service. When you take the earlier flight, there will be less people in Custom when you arrive to LHR, and less traffic heading into Central London. kchika Oct 29, 09, 8:03 pm I am a regular on this route and I have taken both flights in all three classes. Absolutely do not take CX251 and I have plenty of reasons why you shouldn't. I've written about this many times before. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/11988647-post6.html To be completely honest, I would go out of my way to avoid the CX250/1 rotation because you'll be met with the hugely inferior London based crew. Search for my posts and you'll know why. Have you looked at the CX254/CX111 combination? CX254 is the most popular flight out of LHR for Aussie-bound pax, IME. http://www.sqtalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=85576&postcount=4 Good question. Having been on so many LHR flights, let me give you a couple of examples. Last week, I took CX252* in Y. As an unofficial Diamond benefit, the ISM (inflight service manager) and two pursers came to greet me. At the same time I was also asked for my choice of meal, and was served ahead of other pax. Throughout the flight, I was consistently addressed by last name, even from the BCs (junior FAs). While it was nothing significant, all these nice little gestures made travelling in Y much more endurable. On the return in CX251 in J, no one offered me a pre-flight drink when I boarded. I had to flag down a purser to get one, which never came. By the time my second (!) order of drink was delivered, it was already minutes before takeoff. No one came to greet me, nor did anyone bother to address me by last name. To put it simply, they lack the kind of warmth and attentiveness that I receive from their HKG counterparts. FWIW, the LHR based crew are paid less, but that's not a reason for their inferior service. Sorry for hijacking the thread, OP. :tongue3: *CX251/0 are served exclusively by the LHR based crew, CX255/2 are a mix between both LHR and HKG based crew, while CX257/6 and CX253/4 remain to be serviced by HKG based crew. |
