Quick question and opinions wanted,

I have 600k pts and am diamond. looking for 2 rooms for my family (young children) using the 6 night vip pkg. Must haves are great service, beach, pool, kid friendly. nice to haves - big room (suite) and 3 to 5 hour flight (Mexico, Florida and Carribean are good).

I currently am booked iin Cabo for 2 rooms but can switch to WA Boca Resort (not beach). or another property that may be nicer???

on the above, my flight is longer to get to Cabo and costs me 350,000 pts for 2 rms.

Boca Raton costs me 530,000 pts but flight is 1.5 hrs shorter...

I am looking for advice and opinions if i should switch / stay / look at something else.

note - i am booking in super high season so some places are full w/r/t point stays (Boca Beach and Barbados were full)...

Thanks folks and cheers!

I have stayed at the Hilton in Cabo--it's AMAZING. Definitely one of the best in the Hilton system.

Have not stayed in the Boca WA hotels--but have looked at Tripadvisor reviews for both properties. The feedback is very mediocre, much like most of the WA properties, ensuring I will not be visting Boca any time soon.

You are DEFINITELY booked at the better location--and saving boatloads of points.

Hilton seems to believe that placing a WA sign post outside the door warrants $$$$ or gouging customers on points. That strategy may have worked before Tripadvisor.com.....

I agree, Cabo is a fantastic property. I went there last year with my lady, but would return with my children in a heartbeat!

Cabo property is great. Haven;t stayed at Boca Resort (WA), but I will be in about two weeks for biz (Negotiated rate = $279; online off-season AA = $99)!!

I think it is a no brainer since you mentioned "beach" as a desirable feature of your vacation and there is no beach at the Boca resort. 1.5 hours extra flying time means nothing since you have a 6 night stay.

I have stayed at Hilton Los Cabos and it is amazing property.

We stayed 5 nights at Cabo for our honeymoon. It's a beautiful hotel. The beach is OK- to me, it was a long walk from our room to the beach. The hotel is just situation up above and back from the water. I've stayed at other AI resorts that the ocean is very close. The beach is nice, but you can't swim in the water in most places in Cabo. There is a small lagoon area in front of the Hilton that is swimmable. Most people stayed up around the pool area.

I think the bigger question is do you want to go domestic or international? It's more of a hassle to go to Mexico & you need the passports. Cabo is great fun, but probably a 15 min ride to town from the hotel. Everything is pretty expensive there (compared to other places in Mexico). Staying in the US would offer your other food choices for eating out & renting a car would be much easier.

Send me a PM if you'd like to see some photos I have of the hotel and from Cabo.

No brainer as others have said. Cabo. While it is in mexico, it caters to americans very well. Take your kids deep sea fishing for the day and they will never forget it. One of the 3 best places in the world to fish for marlin. Watch your kids eyes go very big when they see the size of these fish. The beach is just a little walk from the pool, most nice resorts are, but well taken care of by the staff.

When were you planning on going? Getting through customs at Cabo airport is a real breeze and enjoying some fine baja food is great. The hilton runs a bus back and forth to Cabo every couple of hours if you don't want to rent a car for the week. If you want to get out and see the sights and come and go on your own, I recommend a rental, easy cheap and costs nothing to park there at the Hilton other than tipping the valet.

Can tell you the best salsa I have ever had was at the hilton restrurant which you get to watch them make it in front of you. Yumy :D

Holler if you have more questions about Cabo or the hotel.

hey guys,

thanks for all the data and input. really appreciated!

I think i am going to go over the x-mas holidays...(i have booked but can change).

on another note, i just booked my business travel for the next 4 weeks and how is this for to much travel:

Nov 2 -3 Hilton London Reading (new and nice gym)
Nov 4 - Hilton London Hyde Park (good location and cheaper than most London hotels)
Nov 5 - Hilton LHR (convenience but do not like it much - also expensive)
Nov 6 - 9 - Hilton Munich City (have not stayed here - break before conference so thought I'd walk the city)
Nov 8 - 12 - Hilton Munich Park (conference - pretty nice)

Nov 16 - 19 Atlanta downtown Hilton (never stayed but looks decent)...

I am hoping that Cabo takes care of me and the family in lieu of the cake I spend with them

Thanks again to all!

I stayed at the Waldorf Boca in August. It was awful!! Bed was bad, service was bad and everything was way overpriced for what they offered. Sheets were dirty. It was a mess. They have 2 hotels. One hotel is beach front and the other hotel (older buidling) you take a shuttle that runs every 15 or so minutes. Don't stay here!!
