Yesterday CO was introduced at EWR as an official member of *A, and SQ's web site has the following announcement as of today :

Continental Airlines has joined the Star Alliance network, giving you better access to New York and the rest of the US and Latin America. KrisFlyer members can now accrue and redeem miles for flights and upgrades on Continental Airlines.

ETA: The title of the thread should say Continental is now an official KF Partner

I'm sure it will come as a surprise to OnePass members that they can't redeem C and F awards on longhaul SQ flights through *A.

Some already know the situation, but I know of at least one FTer who was able to get SQ25 in C, even though the ANA tool was displaying zero availability on that flight.

How? When? Where?

If this person was a KF member or with Skymiles, then I can believe it. Also, SQ opened a brief redemption window over the summer for a week or so for *A.

Otherwise, SQ has shut off 11/12/25/26 for premium awards since June 1st.

Or am I missing something?

Nope he used CO miles and made a *A redemption on the first day CO was introduced.
His routing is JFK-FRA-CAI SQ/LH and CAI-IST-JFK MS/TK
C and F. The SQ flight is in C, for this coming December.

Im not sure what inventory CO agents see, but I know it was not on the ANA tool and they were still able to book him into C.

Really? No more F and C awards on SQ 25/26 with UA miles for JFK-FRA-SIN? Darn. What is the purpose of this rule?

It is not an actual rule, but the availability on that route has diminished to near zero on the ANA *A tool.
