I will be arriving tomorrow on a BA flight at BCN about 2:30 PM.

I will need to find surface transportation between BCN and Hotel AC Barcelona. I would presume that taxi is the best way - what are the charges for this trip? How long does it take?

For the taxi fare, can I pay by credit card? If not, I will need to pay in Euros - are there plenty of ATMs around?

When we were in Barcelona this Summer we took the Metro both ways to airport. The AC is quite close to a stop. If you don't have a lot of luggage it's fine. And, you can buy ten trips on the Metro for about 7 Euros.

However, US credit cards do not work in the Metro ticket system at the airport so you need cash. Or someone with a Spanish card. :D

There are plenty of ATMs at the airport, but some of them try to charge you an extra fee, around three Euros. You can easily find one that has no added fee so do accept the added charge. If there is a fee it should come up on the screen before you confirm the transaction.
