Mileage Run Discussion - Help a newbie please - Trying to get segments to extend US Air Silver Trial

Hello folks,

I have been a lurker for quite a while enjoying the stories everyone else posted. Now I need assistance and couldn't think of a better place to get answers.

I took part in the US Air Preferred Trial earlier this year and my Silver status is set to expire on 11/17/09. I need 6 more segments or 3540 miles to extend the Silver status thru 2011.

I was hoping to cram this into one day and decided on 11/7/09.

The only itinerary I found so far that was inexpensive enough was as follows:

BOS-CLT-RDU
RDU-CLT-MIA
MIA-CLT-BOS

Total of $269 on Orbitz or $282 on US website booking 2 separate itins as there is a less than 1hr period between the RDU arrival and departure.

I need the advice or other possible alternatives to get the 6 segments or 3540 miles necessary for the same or less cash.


Separate question: Can someone confirm that if I complete the necessary segments or miles by the 11/17 date that the Silver status stays and there is not a loss of status between 11/17 and Feb 2010 when the program starts (not sure if I worded this correctly).

PS: Home airport is BOS

Nope, if you complete the necessary amount of miles/segments you will continue to enjoy your silver status until the end of Feb 2011, without interruption.
