YX is matching some fares, including at the $25 level, such as MKE-IND each way. Pricing is based on distance between city pairs.

Refer to http://www.southwest.com/landing/fourthqrtr.html?src=DINGWOWSALE000000091027&src=sta_offer_4656754&disc=0:7:1256742491.166412:23580@727848957C8A833AE 0F07A75DF196055C95571EC for terms and conditions associated with Southwest's "sale," which presumably apply to the competitive match fares on Midwest.

It appears that not all fares are being matched. Those with head-to-head route competition are the most likely matches.

Speaking of fares, the YX booking engine is displaying some really outrageous fares MKE-FLL.

Many times, the only flights that show up are codeshare.

That route has had a glitch in the system since they introduced it.

Maybe this will catch some one's attention at corporate.

The problem occurs more often when trying to search flexible dates; try searching by schedule. YX has been made aware of the problem a number of times.

Some of the flights during the Christmas break are overbooking, i.e. MKE-FLL on Dec 26. That flight is pricing at a fully refundable fare of $655 + taxes and fees, for the one-way flight. However, a return on Dec 30, which apparently has only about nine seats sold, prices out at the same, high one-way fare.

When I booked this itinerary, immediately after the flights were loaded, I purchased at about $297, roundtrip, including all fees and taxes, for travel during Christmas week. I tried to book award travel, but apparently they placed a blackout on the route, over the holiday period; I was told that they would only accept award travel bookings for flights on the route commencing Jan 5.

I have had good success contacting the web support desk for assistance; the wait time is not long, if at all, and the reps have usually been very helpful and professional. If there is a glitch that prevents one from booking on YX's site, the phone booking fee is waived.

I just did a search by schedule 2/9-2/23 and came up with a $521.00 fare. I know you've made them aware of the problem after the route was relaunched last month, but it looks like they are having problems correcting it.

Until today, I could only get codeshare flights to display.

With problems like that, passengers, will book at AirTran, which is substantially less.

I totally agree. There must be something wrong with their system (or revenue management) to price nearly empty flights only at fully refundable fares.

The fares on this route recently took a huge leap. Travel could be booked on another carrier in F, at a lower cost, but with complimentary food & beverage, free checked bags, and wider seats with much greater pitch all included.

Some of the YX MKE-FLL roundtrips are pricing at more than $1300.

It appears that there was purpose behind the artificially-inflated pricing on the MKE-FLL route - the flight will not operate daily, at least for some periods; i.e. the nonstop is not available on Dec 30, which is one of the dates that was pricing at more than $600, one-way, even with only about 12% of the seats sold.

Also, the departure time has been slightly pushed back on the nonstops.
