I am arriving at the CIN station on Sunday morning and was wondering about transportation options to the CVG airport.

Any advice appreciated.

Transportation options from Cincinnati Union Terminal (The Wizard of Oz Train Station) to CVG:

1. Taxi - waiting at the the main doors of Union Terminal. Costs about $25-$30.

2. Public Transportation:

You will be arriving Sunday from Chicago about 3 AM or so and could be a bit late.

Metro Bus #1 to downtown leaves Union Terminal at 5:58AM sharp. Cost about $1.50. To the right as you leave the main doors of the terminal.

Transfer to Transit Authority of Northern KY Bus #2X downtown.

Leaves 6:04 AM arrives CVG 6:40 AM Cost about $1.50/\.

Wow. What a great URL. :D

OP: I wouldn't consider walking anywhere from the train station to kill time. It's about a mile from downtown CVG, but it's in a desolate, industrial district and I wouldn't feel safe walking that. (I felt kind of creeped out just driving it late at night.)

I'd snooze in the train station until the buses get there or take a cab.

That's correct. OK to walk around out front in view of the security offiice windows and cameras. Check out the wispering gallery between the two drinkng fountians at the ends of the half dome.

...you could also spend time pondering why such a major American city has only six train departures per week, all of which are scheduled between 1 and 4 in the morning. :(

And, when you get to CVG, if you have extra time, you can try to find the 14 murals commemorating industrial activity that were moved from CIN to the airport. Some are in the deactivated terminal that is accessible but no longer in use.
