AI's (and indeed, most pilots of India-based airlines) are mercenaries, in the sense that they will jump ship for the smallest increase in salaries. As pointed out in another thread (which I cannot find immediately), many (or most) pilots are crazy about how much they get paid, and will fight even for a thousand bucks (INR, mind you, that's approx $20-25). Rs 15k is *Massive* by those standards !

expat pilots in AI, AI Express and Alliance Air are regularly getting their $14-15,000 (Rs 6.5-7 lakh) pay every month

Established commanders make a lot, and usually these are amounts very close to the expat pilots' salaries, if not more (particularly commanders who primarily/also train).

It's a global marketplace for pilots, if they aren't well paid they can leave
