Does anyone have any recommendations for a good travel agent who won't tell you you're crazy for wanting to book a MR?

I've been trying to book a 10 segment MR mostly on CO with no dice on any of the online booking sites. The travel agents I've talked to are all quite blunt about saying how crazy I am, and one has even refused to offer to book saying they could get in trouble with the airline (lame excuse imo).

Anyway, I've managed to get this one booked, but for next time can you recommend someone who is a little more understanding? :)

My wife thinks I am crazy for doing MRs, should I find a new wife?;)

Just tell them you are doing a MR and leave it at that. Give them the segments you want, and I'm sure they will take your credit card.

Customs officers know about MRs, I'm sure travel agents do too. And I doubt they care too much. A sale is a sale.

I would think many travel agents would struggle to find you a decent MR for your $. They aren't used to maximizing routing and I would use ITA myself before trusting anyone else to come up with a MR. I think constructing the run is what many of us on here are so obsessed over. I spend many hours simply plugging in different dates, cities etc to stumble onto my realities. It has become a hobby. Yes it is a hobby not an obsession). :D

With the latest round of fare sales, I found that I spent a ton of time on this Thursday. But at the end of the day, I chalked it up to being more of a hobby than a waste to time. But I'm not doing a true mileage run in that I'm flying out and back right away. I'm taking advantage of fares and the need to get a ton of miles to see a new city or two along the way. Combining MR with a free night stay at SPG gives me the opportunity to check out new places for virtually free.
