Lots of flying this year, however not enough in Europe to take advantage of the double status promotion...so I'm short by exactly 24 miles to achieve SEN status...can you believe it? Quite amusing to be so close, yet so far... :(

I have some long-hauls coming up next month, and I'd like to be SEN before then...anyone have an idea of what might be the cheapest and quickest way to snap up 24 status miles? Nearest airport is ZRH...

Thanks for any ideas!!!

CHEAP: Out of ZRH nothing is cheap on LX. You have to pay a minimum of CHF 300 for a round trip ticket for a same day return.

Quick: You have many destinaton with multiple flights per day out of ZRH. I always consider MXP as the shortest and quickest flight out of ZRH. HAM and BERLIN can beat on the price. Locally, you have Lugano and GVA.

I have some long-hauls coming up next month, and I'd like to be SEN before then...May I ask why? You're FTL already and will be SEN on the return leg of your first long-haul... not sure what extra benefits could be worth 200.- ? Status miles means flying, and if you don't do a same-day return you're looking at CHF149 + overnight cost for a web special to MXP or so.

I'd probably just wait.

Why not a return flight to Geneva?

Why not a return flight to Geneva?

From what I heard from my work colloeagues in our office in Zurich that ZRH-GVA fares are very expensive and amongst the highest in the world.

Yeah, you're probably right...it's just such a tease being only 24 miles away that I thought I may give it a shot and then by being SEN before my next flights I would increase my chances of an op-ups, etc. But it's true, I might just wait a bit longer as spending around CHF 200 (or probably more) for 24 status miles isn't really worth it.

I really miss the good old Web Specials we had in the past, where you could buy same-day weekend flights at truly low fares. These new, "enhanced", "last-minute" offers are not as cool IMO.

Yeah this really is nasty. Flying from ZRH to any place in Europe return often costs three times as much as from anywhere in Europe to any other place in Europe return via ZRH on LX. Very bad for MR when you live in CH.

BSL - AMS: CHF 215,- return same day, from 129,- return with one night in Amsterdam (and what can be so bad about that? :D)

Why does it need to be on LX?
