Yes that's correct.
In the beginning of 2010 Sweden will be the 50th country in the world to be added to the Starbucks map.
The first cafe will in fact open at Arlanda airport, not sure where, but I could imagine in Skycity.
It will be the most northernly Starbucks in Europe.

Personally I have had a bit enough of the chain already, but I'm sure many Swedes and international visitors alike will like it.

Here is the press release:

Starbucks strategy in Europe ex-UK seems to have been heavily dependent upon getting a flag at airports. So to have it pop up in ARN wouldn't be surprising. SkyCity would be unsurprising given all the other fast food type places there but the foot traffic there might not be what it is elsewhere.

I have been to *bucks a few times, but found it overpriced and lacking in character. In Europe I prefer local places, but at airports or the US, who cares?

The new Starbucks will be at Terminal 5, in the pier for gates 1-10.

I doubt that *$ will be very successful in Sweden.
Their burnt coffee is not what Swedes are used to.
Swedes already have coffee houses serving coffee far superior to *$.

Airside then?

I'm sure one will have to pay atleast 70SEK for a cup chocolate milk topped with a small espresso and cream
