Was there a near miss at LAX involving an arriving E190 and a departing NW 757?

The NWA issue couldn't happen here. Republic pilots can't afford laptops.

Also, all the Republic flights I have been on the pilot has looked to be in his 40's or even 50. and I would imagine the 190 would have the most senior pilots the company has operating them.

Also, I have yet to hear of anyone producing any empirical evidence to suggest that mainline pilots are less likely to be involved in accidents than regional jet pilots.

I am just glad that no one was hurt

Just for reference, the runway's are about 200 feet wide, within 100 feet they would not have been on the runway, but would have past the hold short line. Probably about 40 feet from the runway itself. That was pretty close, if the reports are accurate.
