Emirates Airlines Skywards - Chauffeur drive from Heathrow to Gatwick
I am flying out of Gatwick with Emirates in mid November. Chauffeur drive from Heathrow to Gatwick have been booked. But I have some concern regarding transportation time because of the rush traffic. We will be picked up at 17:15 at Heathrow and our plane leaves at 20:10 from Gatwick. This gives us approximately 3 hours - is this sufficient time regarding that it is Thursday evening?
Anybody living or working in London that can give some advice?
Thanks.

Nos, You must have a good reason for flying out of Gatwick when there are later flights on EK out of Heathrow, however if you are landing at T3 I would go to the EK desk and inform them you are on your way to Gatwick. You are in the lap of the gods at that time of the evening in respect of traffic round the M25 motorway. Unless traffic is really bad I would imagine it would take about one hour to one hour thirty to get round to Gatwick. EK drivers will be aware of any major delays on the M25 and have alternative routes to take. Good luck.

I took the limo service last week (Tuesday) from my apartment in West London. I passed LHR around 17.10hrs and arrived at LGW at 18:01hrs - The reason I remember the times is because I was texting updates to a friend I was meeting for dinner at the Sofitel before my flight EK10.
It really depends on what the traffic is like, but I had no problems.

The drivers at Emirates said 17:15 would be fine, in normal rush traffic it would take 70-80 minutes. They also said 17:30-1800 latest.
I am flying First class so according to Emirates check-in closes 45 minutes before departure.
Thanks for the answers.

Nos,
Like Brian I too came round the M25 in that area last night and despite some very slow traffic I was past the M23 junction (for Gatwick) in reasonable time. LGW is not as frantic as LHR so you should be able to do it. Happy landings.

Unless there are accidents on the M25, 1hr 45 would be the worst case I could see for getting to Gatwick. ime, tends to be slow for the 17 miles to Junction 10 and then improves after that. I would not expect to get to Gatwick later than 7pm
The distance between the 2 airports is 45 miles, so even at average 30mph is only 1.5 hours
