Travel Technology - Looking for English GPS for travel to South Korea

I have a Garmin Nuvi 255. Looking for maps for travel to South Korea, particularly Seoul. I have spent the past three hours searching google and endless forums for information. I went to Garmin's site and tried to find SK maps, but alas, nothing found. I am willing to buy another GPS and just sell it when I get back, but I can't find SK maps through TomTom, Magellan, or Mio. Any advice?

I am going to be in SK for literally six and a half hours in between flights, and I know it is totally crazy, but I am totally determined to go to Costco. I know, I know, why would I want to do that, right? Well, I have my reasons, among others to be able to see as much of the city as possible.

I will be landing in ICN and I plan on renting a car. I know how crazy it is, but I think it would be quite an adventure. However, I know it will be impossible without a gps. Any suggestions are helpful! Thank you.

There are three Costcos in Seoul - in Yangjae, Yangpyung, and Sangbong. None of them is going to be a quick drive from the airport. I don't even know if you'd get there in an hour. With traffic and dealing with Korean roads (and many road signs are only in Korean - not so much directional signs but order/warning signs), not to mention getting lost (even with a GPS), your drive there and back would probably kill almost all of your time.

I would imagine you could hire a car with a GPS already built in, if you're determined.

Thank you for this info. I guess if I can't find a GPS, I won't drive. How would you suggest I get there by public transportation. I used Google maps, which told me that it should take 1 hour 15 minutes by subway, switching lines once.

If you rent a car you must have an International Drivers License. You can get one from AAA or some travel agents. About $20. No IDL, No car rental.

There is a Garmin Korea site at www.garmin.co.kr, but in Korean, of course. You could try e-mailing them and see if someone there knows English.

From fiddling with Google Translate, it appears they have a Korean topo map for 220,000 Won (US$189). Don't know if it provides street routing.

I can verify this fact. It's also not just car rentals; the police insist on seeing them (checkpoint; I wasn't pulled over:))., which, no matter how polite and patient the cop, can be very stressful if your IDP has fallen behind the glove compartment.

There are three Costcos in Seoul - in Yangjae,

The last time I was there (Dec. 08) this Costco created substantial traffic jams. Perhaps a car is not the best option?
