I am confused about how long my diamond membership will last when I requalify this year. the next big thing states until Feb 2011, but he message on the GP home page says " with 6 more nights this year you will requalify for Diamond membership for an additional year. The past two or three times I have requalified it was for 2 years each time. Has there been a change?

Upon requalification you will remain Diamond for the remainder of this year, all of next year (2010), and the first two months of 2011 unless you requalify again next year.

I guess they have changed things because the last few times it was for 2+ years. This time just a year( + 2 months).

I really can't remember when it was for 2+ years. Definitely not in the last 5-6 years since I started frequenting Hyatt hotels.

I suppose if someone does 13 stays in January 2010, they will get their renewal for 2011 -- and Diamond status for 2010 if they didn't renew it, or hold it, this year.

While the following is not an ordinary situation, it wouldn't surprise me if some of the following kind of current non-Diamond members:

with a Diamond-qualifying stay/night taking place in whole or in part in 2009 but getting credited to the GP account after December 31, 2009

would find themselves with:

2 years of Diamond status, lasting until the end of February 2012

even without 13 stays in January 2010.
