Star Alliance - Lounge access policy has changed Oct 1!

Sorry if this has been discussed, didn't find a recent thread about it.

Me and my gf flew SFO-FRA and from there we travelled to different destinations with *A carriers (me SK and she LH if it makes a difference). We tried to go to the SEN lounge in FRA with my SK*G card, but were denied access as we were not travelling on the same flight! I told the lady that it hadn't mattered before, as long as we both fly on a *A flight. She informed me that the rules have changed from Oct 1 and that your guest now has to fly on the same flight as you.

Did she make this up or have the rules really changed?

4. Guests must enter with eligible Star Alliance Gold customer and must depart on a Star Alliance airline, though not necessarily on the same flight.

Who denied access? Was it the non LH staff posted outside the lounge?

They are notoriously wrong and badly briefed about *G status.

Most likely the agent was misinformed/making up rules. At least I hope so, as I often take guests on different flights into the lounge.

There's a lengthy thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/miles-more-lufthansa-austrian-swiss-other-partners/986248-boarding-pass-checks-all-lufthansa-lounges-sen-hon-oct-1-a.html) (600+ posts) about the entry rule changes in the M&M forum. It has been pointed out that the "guest must depart on the same flight" rule is in violation of the Star Alliance rules but so far no response from LH. :mad:

Oh, so it's a LH thing, hadn't seen that one! Thanks for the info, another reason to avoid FRA in the future.
