Let's say I am ticketed SEA-LAS/LAX. Is it possible to stand by for earlier flights going SEA-PDX-LAS/LAX? Or am I stuck with direct flights only?

COpltASgldPHX Oct 26, 09, 1:13 am You could stand-by with the added connection but, in your example, there would be no guarantee for the PDX-LAX/LAS segment. They'd probably encourage you to do same-day confirmed. jackal Oct 26, 09, 2:12 am You could stand-by with the added connection but, in your example, there would be no guarantee for the PDX-LAX/LAS segment. They'd probably encourage you to do same-day confirmed. I was under the impression (both from personal experience [though it's been awhile] and helping family members with their travel arrangements) that the same-day standby and same-day confirmed changes were valid for the same routing only. At least I'm pretty sure it's that way when done through OLCI. Perhaps if you speak to a ticket agent, they can work around that (and collect the difference in taxes, if applicable). eponymous_coward Oct 26, 09, 10:30 am I don't think OLCI will offer same-day confirmed that would go from a direct routing to a connecting, which is why I asked about standby. This is something I expect to have to do at the airport on the day of flight, if it's going to work at all. The flights in question actually look better going SEA-PDX-LAS than SEA-LAS at the time I want to move to (the PDX-LAS flight has a lot more open seats, whereas SEA-LAS is very close to full). (Of course, if the direct flight I want IS available SDC, I'd probably take it. I just like my odds of sliding into F better out of PDX. :p) |
