Good news
A new Holiday Inn Paris Notre Dame (http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/pc/1/en/hotel/PARND/welcome?start=1&rpb=hotel&crUrl=/h/d/pc/1/en/availsearch&ias=y) opens in Paris, in the famous Quartier Latin.

The hotel will have:
- 110 rooms
- 1 Wine Bar on the ground floor with a private garden beside. Gourmet snack food service available at the bar
- 1 terrace on the 9th floor with an astonishing view on the typical roofs of Paris and most of the city's monuments. The terrace could be privatised for personnal or business events.
- 3 meeting rooms (up to 55 people)
- Parking lot nearby with places held for our clients.

The hotel will open 28th December 2009

It looks really good!

Sadly the rates at the moment look a little too high for my humble leisure travel budget especially with the poor £:€ exchange rate.

As far as I can tell no reward nights are available yet (I'm sure it's not their 1st priority).
I'm hoping that they may start off at 15k (although I'm guessing they will be 25k)

You never know the hotel may appear on the next PB list as it's a new property & they may want to raise exposure (well I can dream anyway!)

Based on inquiries about other not-yet-opened properties in the past, award night inventory isn't generally loaded until opening or slightly before.

I share your hope for 15k and expectation for 25k.

Grab 'em now--it's almost sure to go up to 25K at some point. (The other 15K Paris HIs did.) If PBs come out, it's always possible to cancel/rebook.

Unbelievable value - I would book quickly as I'm sure it's too good to last.

I've booked a 6 night stay for March.
Only thing it looks such unbelievable value I am not sure whether I can justify the extra 25k points for Le Grand.

I've made my bookings in smaller 2 night chunks as I'm sure it's only a matter of time until the rate goes up to 25k - This will give me a little more flexibility if I want to slightly alter my plans & they've bumped up the rate to 25k.

do they only have rooms with 1 bed in? regardless of date or rate the only options I see are rooms with 1x Queen or rooms with 1xKing bed

Yes, only 1 bed per room, 3 person max. Very big :td: to a property in a chain that touts itself as family/kid friendly.

No matter, the Hilton ADT will have to do. ;)

family friendly maybe, but not a good place for 2 heterosexual males

in addition, 3 persons per room is only the executive rooms
otherwise it is 2 PERSON(S) PER ROOM MAXIMUM

Yes good point - in addition to NOT being family friendly it is not available for the situation you describe. Basically it's only for couples or for business (which much of it wouldn't happen in the near vicinity). Good luck to them with that niche.

Thanks for the info, booked three nights for the Heineken rugby final in May. Great deal for that area of Paris in May.

Oh please. It is not exactly rare for city-centre hotels to have small rooms which are not big enough for an extra bed, especially in Europe.

Many such hotels have no rooms that can cope with a family. This hotel does actually have such rooms, its just that they want you to pay for them rather than give them away as awards.

As you have PC Plat status you could always e-mail to ask if you could guarantee an upgrade to an Exec Room before you book. You may even be able to get two connecting rooms albeit that would be 30k per night.

Remember this hotel is effectively only £55 per night (or equivalent) if you were having to "buy" the points (using the points & cash & then cancel method).:)
That's presuming that you don't have a healthy point balance which - let's face it - with all the bonuses we flyertalkers are signed up to - hopefully have.^

It was only a matter of time...........
Reward nights now appear to be 25k per night:td::td:

The opening date is now 20th Feb 2010 (according to the website) too.
