Other European Frequent Flyer Programs - intra-Europe TP (TAP Portugal) experiences? (esp. LGW-FNC-LGW)

Heading to FNC (Funchal, Madeira) next year on TP. Few general questions:

From what I read the meal service on intra-Europe C is pretty good. Is the middle seat blocked in C?
Will TP check baggage through if on two different PNRs (both on TP - much cheaper this way)
Lounges in LGW and FNC? Looks like LGW is some crappy contract lounge and FNC has a TP lounge, is this correct? Is the FNC lounge decent at all?
Any other comments on these longish intra-Europe flights, both in Y and C? Flew them once in Y a couple years ago, wasn't nearly as dreadful as I feared.

TIA ^

At the end of the day, its just an airline. And while in theory they'll do their best to treat you well, an awful lot depends on the crew of the day, your fellow passengers (and labour relations within the airline :)).

Catering is fine - and can be quirkily fine: I was presented with quail as an option on one LGW LIS flight in C.

Don't really understand how you are connecting online to a LGW FNC flight.

Centre seat is normally kept free, although F&F upgrades and op-ups can ride roughshod over that.

Lounges at LGW FNC are nothing special. Just lounges. Though to be honest I havent used FNC lounge for a long time - it might have been upgraded to the level of the "new" TP lounge in LIS.

Easy: LIS-LGW-FNC or OPO-LGW-FNC. Does it make sense? Common sense - no, airline sense - sometimes :)

It is indeed. Check a TR here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-reports/1004435-eating-tap-portugal-european-c-class.html).

Seats are ACDEF: B is always blocked, E might be occupied. So get A or C.

Unlike the LIS lounge, it hasn't undergone renovation. As far as I remeber, it's an acceptable lounge, but just that.

In Y, you'll get a full meal because the flight is longer than 3h.
