Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer - Luggage and stopover

Hi

We are a family of 4 travelling to Australia via SiA in a few weeks time. We're having a weekend stopover in Singapore. If we check in 4 suitcases will we be able to check 3 through to Australia and 1 only to Singapore?

Hi,

AFAIK SQ will not check the baggage through if the stopover time exceeds 24hrs. If its less than 24 Hrs then they will check the 3 pcs of your luggage through all the way to final destination. This is atleast what the offical policy is but you coul try and see what the agent at check in says.

We have made this trip before (48 hr stopover) and checked our luggage all the way through. However last time we took our stopover stuff in hand luggage but this time we would like to take a few more bits and pieces so we're wondering if its possible to split our luggage in this way.
