Call centre knows nothing whatsoever. Tried to speak to a manager who said they are still issuing it and that everybody would get it. on questioning why a year in not all primaries had received it and supplemntaries were receiving it - he could not answer. Said he was not aware of the actual process.

What have they told you?

Agree with you on the call center perspective... no two agents have managed to give the same answer or anything remotely alike. The latest info that I received is that "the migration is still on going" and I will be contacted about the card "between now and the end of the year".

One thing concerning the enhanced benefits is that they are already processing them whether you have the Ti card or not. I sent in the application form for Avis, etc back in September and the CS confirmed to me that they had received and had processed it in October (I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume the one month delay in receiving / processing is due to Royal Mail ;) )

The new card is plastic or Titanium? If Titanium, did you receive the normal welcome pack?

Will all supplementary card holders get one in the UK? Just curious as here in Canada they were adamant that only the primary card holder would get the titanium card....

Well, yes - all Black Supplementary card holders are supposedly getting one....

The people whose primaries have received it - their supplementaries have also received it AFAIK.

Well when you do finally get your Titanium card, don't forget to allow at least another 4 months for all of the new 'enhanced' benefits to arrive. 4 months it took for my Sirius Gold, and just over 5 months for AVIS Presidents Club - nice to see the efficiency and relaibility of the new partners was checked thoroughly before launching the refreshed product. After all its not as if AmEx had years to get this detail sorted, oh hold on.....

Of course I am not keen on paying the enhanced fee! But I am trying to understand if I have been somehow missed out of this revitalisation - or it is still under process.....

It took over 6 months for Avis to come through and repeated phone calls and emails. This was on the IDC Cent but still out of UK. Interestingly, when I asked for Ti supplemental card they refused - strange that for the wholly UK product (pretty much identical 'benefits') you're getting that.

Move to Australia. You can get 3 titanium cards. 2 for the primary card holder and 1 for sup. But then our fees are around USD$4000 per annum.

They now offer it. It is $1400/year to upgrade the supplemental from black plastic to black titanium. There are no additional benefits.

I´ve been with Amex for 25 years now and have a Centurion Card. I understand Titanium is being issued now and that the fee will be around 1800 Sterling.
I´ve no intention of paying this (even the 650 now, is too high) so what´s the option? Can I simply downgrade to Platinum as and when Amex send me the new pack? I cannot see them doing me any favours by "giving me" the Titanium at the Centurion fee. Do I still get the full Priority Pass with Platinum?.
I am resisting talking to Amex about this at this stage because I wanted to get other user experiences on this. Thank you.

Yes, you can downgrade to Platinum without any problem.
I will be doing the same when my conversion is due which they told me would be January 2010.

have to say I haven't bothered chasing it but last time I rang them for something back in April, they asked me if I had received my new card! When told no they checked and said I was due to receive mine in June.

Mind you as my renewal is mid December, they are now within the 45 day period so I should get another year at the old price. I had wondered if they were going to send it just before the 45 days and state I would have to upgrade to the new price this December just to get rid of me as i no longer spend any sort of significant amount on it. Jury is still out on whether that cycnicism ws misplaced or not.

Well - I'd kind of be happy with the old £650 fee continuing for as long as possible - so long as they dont push you to platinum automatically! My next fee is due in August!

Received my new cards, including A.C. card today, the old ones had exp 11/09). Both of them plastic, just a standard envelope, no accompanying invitation. What gives?
