I am living in Bangkok and I need 13,414 United miles before the end of the year. Any flight on Star Alliance will get me those miles. Does anybody have any info on a good deal on a Star Alliance flight going anywhere roundtrip from Bangkok (I prefer the USA) that I could take? Bob

Call a consolidator in Bangkok, I know many of them have better prices than you can find online or anywhere in US many times.

Let us know after calling around to consolidators in BKK.

I have seen lot of advertisements for travel deals in sunday newspaper in Bangkok last week when I was there.It will be good idea to check that and call the travel agency in ad.

It's on UA, so the DBEQM promotion would apply, and be more than enough EQM for you.

Be careful as not all *A flights earn 100% eqms. It depends on your fare class.

If you're looking for miles specifically on United, try BKK-YVR on UA. I do this route often (the other way around), and I pay under $900 CDN through Tour East. However, I know that Chawla Travel in BKK has some good deals on UA to YVR for around $750 CDN any time of the year. That'll get you about 15 to 16,000 miles, and with the Double EQM, you'll get more than what you need for a cheap price, and a visit to Vancouver to boot.
