Hey Guys,

I'm flying YVR-NRT-KIX in December and the NRT to KIX is flight #51. Although it is a domestic flight, because they connect international customers, it's considered an international flight.

I was wondering what service I can expect on board? I was hoping to maybe upgrade to Class J if it was available (1000 Yen is nothing!), but is the service layout international as well?

Thanks

I was on JL51 about a month ago.
Since you're coming in from YVR, you won't have to do what I did though (I was only going NRT-KIX).

It's a 738 in the V40 config http://www.jal.co.jp/en/aircraft/conf/737.html
The plane has IFE, but the system isn't turned on due to the short length of the flight. They have drinks service.

I remember calling about this. I believe they treat all seats as Y class seats. At checkin they will assign the C seats to elites or C or F paying passengers.

Not sure aobut service since I have not flown this sector

If you don't mind having a longer layover, going through custom at NRT and flying to ITM instead. You can pick JAL3007 which uses a long-haul config aircraft on this flight. Solo and Shell Flat seats in J class, Sky Shell (premium economy) and regular Y seats in economy cabin. ;)

JALPak has a good suggestion. Depending on where your final destination is in the Kansai region. It makes sense to fly into ITM instead of KIX.

As someone who lives in this area ITM is MUCH MUCH more convinent.

Thanks for the advice. Although it sounds funny KIX is the best for me. I'm going to Tokushima so will connect via ferry in Wakayama.

Why don't you fly HND-Tokushima Instead?

Why don't you fly HND-Tokushima Instead?

It was $100 cheaper PLUS I have multi use tickets left so my transportation from KIX (or more like Wakayama Port) to Tokushima will save me money.
PLUS I like Kansai :p
