Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan - Does it really take 4 to 6 weeks for miles to post?

Apparently so. I flew 8 segments/close to 10K miles late in September on DL and have yet to see any of those flights post to my AS account. Is this typical?

If my partner flights haven't posted in a month, they never do (without sending documentation). DL seems to be one of the more prompt partners, but I think they all upload into the MP system about once a week. (At least, that seemed to be the pattern in the past).

Shouldnt take that long. Id say if it aint there after 4 to 6 weeks it never will be on its own, like just stated above.

Agree... they say '4-6 weeks' in case the partner takes forever to send a batch o' miles into AS to process... but with airlines it rarely takes that long unless there is a major glitch... better mail in your itin and a boarding pass...

Mail? What's that? Never heard of it. Oh, you mean that thing you do with stamps. WAY too much hassle. I think I've bought about 5 stamps in my life.

Email a copy to mileage.plan@alaskaair.com! Or barring that, fax it to 206-433-3477. Doing that in the past usually results in the miles being added the next day.

I like to support more then just the internet and phone companies :p

Haven't had any issues by submitting by mail either

Fair enough. :p Dang...if it posted before the next two weeks, my newly minted MVP status would have showed for an upcoming flight...and gotten me better seats! Darn that silly system. But hooray for me remembering to keep all of those damned boarding passes...all 8 of them!

I'd say call AS... but then again, one usually can't resolve this kind of issue, w/o documentation... :p

So if you were to fax/email this into AS and it posts this week, would there not be time for AS' elite processor to run and 'upgrade' your status? So it could process in time if submitted tomorrow (theoretically)

I totally would...however the b/ps are at home and I am in HNL for the w/e (on biz, with a sinus infection, no less!...SUCKS!). It will have to wait until my return. Blast!

I was in some cheaper hotels that didn't have a print option, so I opted to check-in at the airport. I have never had this happen before on DL, and I flew quite a few segs on them this year. All credited within a few days max. Odd.

Apparently it DOES take some miles up to 4 weeks to post. Woke up this morning to MVP status. (yay!). The system still is giving me "back of the bus" status regarding seats though. :( Guess I need to give them a call.

It will take a week or 2 for your mvp status to be in the reservation system

When I did status match to MVP in January, I checked the website everyday until the status was listed. a day after saw my status, I called the MVP desk because I couldn't select exit row seats. The woman put me in the seats and added a comments in the record just in case someone was to question why i was there. I kept those seats for a few weeks until my F upgrade went through.

Dont know if it was against the rules but it might be worth a shot at least for preferred seating.
