bmi diamond club - Is LAX-FRA-MAN for 2 in LH First Class one way possible with miles and cash?

I am looking at a one way redemption booking for 2 from LAX-MAN. Ideally Air New Zealand via LHR would be my first choice but I want to book in advance ( just under a year ) so probably no chance! I am looking at LH First Class so I have a flat bed.
Does anyone know if this can be done with miles and cash and what is the chance of an award first class bed availability with LH in general. Are my chances better booking in advance with LH?
Any other info regarding an award flight from LAX-MAN would be useful.

you cannot use cash and miles on LH for first PLUS they add on an additional 10,000 miles
so if the economy miles were 20,000 one way the LH first miles would be 60,000 miles (20k x 2.5)+10k

Thanks.
LH is now off the list as only have 38,000 miles.

maybe have a look at LX LAX-ZRH-MAN. You cannot check availability on ANA but there is a thread on here where people with an expertflyer account may be able to check (or think you can sign up for a free 5 days I believe)
Not travelled LX in F (will be doing so in Feb) but think it is highly thought of.

You can also find information on How to easily check redemption availability on LX (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/bmi-diamond-club/858553-how-easily-check-redemption-availability-lx.html) here.

Remember that you can get the LH J beds to go flat IF you sit in a bulkhead and you know the 'trick'. The seats were designed to go fully flat but LH artificially restricts the recline to squeeze more rows in - you can easily override this by pushing the right (concealed) levers.
The view on here is that ANZ LAX-LHR redemption seats open up 2-3 weeks before departure. I would therefore book Swiss and then think about rebooking near the day. However, if you get the new Swiss business class seat (now rolling out), it is also fully flat and you'd know within a month of departure which plane it was going to be.
In general (although the point is not now important) 4 J seats are easily gettable on LH if you book 11 months out. 4 F seats are also often available at the outset, although you are more likely (in my view) to see 2 F and then, if you book them, to see 2 more open up. I got 4 F to New York last year easily on the exact day I wanted.

There's a 2.5k sign up bonus on offer at the mo for new JetFriends accounts (if you have a 2yr old wanting an FFP ;))

Thanks for checking.
Could I ask just one more favour from you or any other ExperFlyer member - is there 2 First Class award seats LAX-ZRH-MAN on LX for the weekend before? ( ie. availability on either 24th, 25th, 26th or 27th Septmeber 2010!)
Cheers:confused:

Nothing whatsoever for that period, only J seats. I suspect they haven't released any F seats yet. Same applies to some ZRH-NRT flights I'm looking at for next year, where only J seats are available from a certain point.
