I am planning a business trip to Manila for sometime in the next three months or so in Business Class.
The most direct routing for me appears to be Singapore Airlines on MAN-SIN-MNL though this would be on the 777-200.
So I may be better going from LHR-SIN-MNL on the A380 to SIN?
So first question is would this be the best route and airline to travel with?
Second question is earning miles. If I flew from LHR-SIN-MNL would this be 6700+1400 = 8100 one way. So 16200 return. Multiply x2 for Business = 32400?
This would be a revenue ticket. Thanks.

Route mileage can be calculated here (http://gc.kls2.com/).
bmi earning table is found here (http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/src/html/diamondclubhowtoearnmiles.html).
Or LHR-BKK-MNL on TG, which would be cheaper if you can fix your dates (search FT for some agent suggestions - mine is WestEast Travel), and double miles, and you get a nice massage in BKK. Slopey seats, but no worse than the SQ Spacebed ex-MAN
SQ C is only 1.5x miles alas
I suspect you can also do LHR-ICN-MNL on OZ (ex-T1 for a smooth LHR connection), but not sure how convenient the connections are at ICN

Asiana via Seoul is half the price of Singapore and earns 2x miles.
Alternatively you can get a combined ticket on Air New Zealand to Hong Kong then Cathay Pacific, which is usually competitive. NZ service is excellent and earns x2 points. You won't get *A points for the Cathay leg but its only 2 hours and if you have a BA card you can collect EC points instead for that leg.
You can also go via Hong Kong with LH if you don't mind the extra stop in MUC or FRA.

Decisions decisions
I am inclined to take the lower miles and go with SQ on the A380 as it looks as though the Business product is significantly superior to Thai... would I be correct in thinking this?
It's coming down to whether the SQ offering is better than the other airlines offerings. Is it worth losing 8000 miles over a better Business product etc? I'm thinking it may be but still not sure
Ticket price shouldn't be a big issue as our corporate travel seem to have similar fixed route deals with most airlines anyway. So for now I'm taking that out of the equation.

You're right : SQ's Business product is far over TG's one

But you might get TG First for the price of SQ Business. And this product is far over SQ
